St. Louis - March 5, 2009 - Planned Parenthood is moving into President Obama's White House today for a health care summit. Planned Parenthood's prominent role in the summit is more evidence that the Obama Administration's health care agenda includes abortion on demand. National Review Online posted the agenda today noting Planned Parenthood's participation.
Ed Martin, President of Missourians United for Life, today issued the following statement:
"The Obama Administration has become consumed with supporting and promoting abortion and this is another sign that Planned Parenthood is calling the shots inside the Obama White House. President Obama's first weeks have been the most anti-life in recent memory. One of Obama's first actions as President was ending the Mexico City policy so he could spend taxpayer dollars on overseas abortion. There have been reports that he intends to punish faith-based health care providers who refuse to perform abortions by revoking their protections. Obama's allies in Congress like Senator Claire McCaskill are blocking pro-life amendments that would reverse his pro-abortion actions. Obama has already said one of the first things he would do is sign the Freedom of Choice Act to overturn strong pro-life laws in states like Missouri. Now Planned Parenthood is setting up shop in the White House. Missourians United for Life will continue to be a watchdog for the sanctity of human life and ensure that pro-life Missourians know what is going on inside the Obama White House."
