St. Louis - March 26 - Missourians United for Life's President Ed Martin today issued the following statement on the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision requiring Governor Jay Nixon's Department of Revenue to issue specialty license plates that read "Choose Life" to Missourians requesting them:
"Missourians United for Life is very pleased and gratified that a federal court has recognized that pro-abortion extremists who seek to muzzle the speech of pro-life Missourians deserve to be on the losing side. It is ironic that this decision came down today as pro-abortion Governor Jay Nixon faces increasing criticism for defending his administration's report targeting pro-life Missourians and others who might show their support for a cause with a bumper sticker, or perhaps even a specialty license plate.
"Missourians United for Life urges pro-life Missourians to consider one of these 'Choose Life' specialty plates to show their support for life and to demonstrate to Governor Nixon and his administration that we will not be intimidated by his use of law enforcement to conduct political profiling against citizens who disagree with him."
